Shantell “Shannie” Pooser Dreams of Being A Flight Attendant Against All Odds
“I want to be a flight attendant,” says 17-year-old Shantell “Shannie” Pooser who is diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and has severe health problems.
The trifecta, in a parent’s dream, is to have a child who is healthy, happy, and safe. If all three are missing, it is easy to forget that even just one out of three of these things is an incredible blessing on to itself.
Shannie was not healthy, but she defeated all odds, and after her major surgery in 2016 her mother, Deanna Miller-Berry, not only made a vow to God if her daughter lived, but made a commitment to her daughter that she would help her make her dreams come true. Deanna was determined that this time Shannie’s dreams had a new owner, one with tears of joy rather than tears of sorrow. And a short bucket list of Shannie’s dreams was created.
This inspirational story reveals that unconditional love can always create a new seed to sow, and that a new seed creates a fresh start, and each fresh start creates a new day. Shannie’s bucket list of dreams created the seeds of possibilities, and they were planted in the soil’s nourishment of life. Shannie and her mother’s faith was certainly tested time and time again, but they did not let the present facts stop them, because they looked for a fresh start, and Shannie’s mother added it with faith, that came from the inside, not the outside.
In October 2018, on Shannie’s 17th birthday, American Airlines fulfilled her first dream, and they had a birthday party for her on their airlines flight. Her birthday party included a very special gift that was near and dear to Shannie’s heart, her own official airlines uniform that she wore for her party, and she wears it when she flies to help the airline crew demonstrate safety instructions before the flight.
The Next Leap Forward
The love of life is the life of love, and this becomes the life that gives love meaning, and this becomes the love that gives life meaning. The message of love will require many messengers, and I know that you are ready to take the next leap forward in this endless journey of bringing love to hate and love to sacristy, where there is hidden abundance of everything that truly matters in this lifetime.
I have faith in the bottomless pit of dedicated people, that made Shannie’s dreams come true and will, indeed, become the heroes of tomorrow’s troubles. May you be blessed with courage, willpower, and faith that love can restore a broken path, when the path is loved.
“I could be you and you could be me”.
